Who else is getting some seriously chapped lips with this wind we’ve been getting?
I have for sure.
Sometimes we forget to apply lip balm generously throughout the day, and it’s only until later that we start to feel our lips get tight, dry, and flakey the next day. It’s even harder to use lip balm now because we’re often wearing masks at work or running essential errands, and our trusted lip balm either gets wiped off or smeared across our faces.
In some bad cases of chapped lips, they can crack and bleed so it’s vital to ensure they stay moisturized. Some people like to pick at their chapped lips as well, and this can lead to a longer healing time so your best bet to maintain smooth, supple lips is to do a weekly lip scrub.
You can go as natural as you’d like, using white sugar, jojoba beads or crushed apricot shells as the exfoliating ingredient, and combine it with a binder like honey or coconut oil to ensure the scrub stays on your lips for as long as you need until you’re ready to wipe it off.
Once you’ve used a scrub, make sure you moisturize your lips after!
You can always purchase a lip scrub, but with ingredients you have in your pantry, why not save money and know what you’re putting on your body?
All you need;
1/8 tsp of an exfoliator as mentioned above
1/4 tsp of a binder
Mix thoroughly, apply to your lips and gently rub in small circles to buff.
Wipe off with a warm, damp towel and apply lip balm generously
