Botanical Name: Syzygium aromatic or Eugenia aromatica

Origin: Indonesia
Slender evergreen tree that produces long buds. Three essential oils can be obtained from the clove tree. Bud is the best for aromatherapy and all have the same Latin name.
Extraction: Bud – dried or semi-dried, them comminuted (pulverised) then water distilled
Leaf – water distillation
Stem – sun dried then steam distilled
Main Therapeutic Properties:
- Analgesic
- Antiseptic
- Bactericidal
- Anti-spasmodic
- Carminative
Applications:
• Muscular & articular pain
• Neuralgia. shingles
• Balances thyroid problems
• Toothache (1 drop in warm water and gargle – don’t swallow)
• Loss of appetite
• Rheumatic pains, neuralgia
• Good for all side effects of colds
Mental & Emotional:
- Stimulant
- Poor memory
*CAUTION – use well diluted and in moderation – skin irritant
