Eucalyptus citriodora
Eucalyptus dives
Family: Myrtaceae
Origin: Southern Europe, North Africa & Australia
Extraction: Steam distillation of leaves and older branches
Main Therapeutic Properties:
– antiseptic
– decongestant
– antiviral
– antibacterial
– stimulant
– tonic
Applications:
E. globulus;
– best for upper respiratory system
– sinus infection & headaches
– rheumatism
– stimulates secretion
– asthma, coughs, colds & flu
– nasal congestion
– migraine
E. citriodora;
– antiviral, bactericidal, antifungal
– excellent mosquito repellent
– rheumatoid arthritis
– *CAUTION for sensitive skin
E. dives;
– higher in ketones, so it’s more calming and sedating than other varieties
– heavy lung congestion
– wound healing
E. radiata;
– for flu or cold – hot bath
– bronchitis, asthma
– higher in alcohol than other varieties
– chest colds, catarrh
– otitis
-mild for skin, but do not apply to or near the face of infants or children under 10
