Oh hey! Thanks for stopping by to read some info about me, even if you clicked on the tab by accident. I appreciate it, really!
I’m Dorota Taylor. I’m an RMT as well as a CAHP. For those of you too busy to Google acronyms, it means I’m a Registered Massage Therapist and Certified Aromatherapy Health Professional. Quite a mouthful I know! Believe me, there’s been more than one occasion where I find myself fumbling through the whole title with an involuntary lisp in an attempt to say it all in one breath.
Since graduating from CCMH, I’ve been practicing massage therapy for almost ten years, primarily in rehabilitation clinics, have focused on injuries sustained in motor vehicle accidents, and the occasional patient seeing me for general maintenance. I absolutely love what I do, and I make it an aspiration to educate people about their bodies… because who else will? Will the population really inspect their bodies with a mirror and document all of their moles using the ABCDE’s? Probably not. So, if my hands are on you for 95% of the time during treatment, you better believe my hands know your body. Gaining this knowledge, I use it to help explain what’s going on with your body, and why and how to improve its overall function.
Aromatherapy is a newer thing in my life. I’ve always had a slight interest in the capabilities of essential oils, and so, three years ago I delved into usage, and went straight to school! After learning about essential oils, I began to slowly eliminate the harsh chemicals in skin care products (because I wasn’t just going to toss everything in the trash after having an epiphany), and I also began using them to aid in my emotional well-being.
I’m currently enrolled in an Organic Skincare Entrepreneur program to further develop my skills and knowledge in natural skin care!
I have always had the thought of starting my own blog, but figured I had nothing important to say, until one day at work I came to the realization that I really enjoy sharing knowledge. I have fantasized (like many others) about becoming a drool-worthy Pinterest baker, or beauty guru, or crafter, or home décor inspo, or all-of-the-above-probably-unattainable-multiple-skill-set-perfected-magician — AKA Martha Stewart. One thing I know I can do though, is to help you learn about your body, and to know it best. This is why I created The Honesty Policy.
If you can take just one thing from me and have learned something, I have fulfilled my intentions.
